ABOUT THE CANADA RED MITTEN SHOP
This website has been created for the purpose of providing an on-line red mitten store for the Canada Red Mittens, worn by our relay torch bearers, athletes, politicians, celebrities, senior citizens, babies, moms, dads, teens...even Stephen Harper looked good wearing them. In Canada, mittens are not a gender identity thing. This site lists live listings for the authentic red mitts with tags and other hard to find items of team Canada clothing for those people who do not have a store in their town, or their nation for that matter, that currently has them in stock. All of the sold out stuff is now being resold and the listings are full of all the favourites.
The big events of incredible athletic performances have come to a close (OMG MY HEART! - Tess & Scott, those young Canadian skate dancers!!). TRIPLE OMG! Johannie Rochette - We will never be the same. How beautiful this young heroine; I can imagine just how incredibly proud her mother feels to watch her daughter rise to show the world what an incredible young human she is. We are all just flabbergasted.The Canada Red Mitten Shop will stay open though for as long as people are needing to buy their red mitts and other souvenirs and memorabilia of the 2010 Games in BC. We will also keep on posting fun photos (all with any official logos removed to keep the legal people happy), videos of the red mittens, national anthem singing and great media stories about the Canadian athletes looking so beautiful and so Canadian, waving at us, with their genuine warm wide open smiles and fuzzy red knit hands. As the clock ticks down to our closing ceremonies here in BC, there will be more videos about the red mittens added. Fun & Inspiring clips of Canadians of every age, ethnicity and from every part of Canada and visitors from all over the world. They are all cheering for all of us; laughing, shaking their fists and jumping high with the wild excitement of celebrating a HUGE victory for the whole world.
